In Today’s Photo, you can see Sgt. 1st Class Jose Quinones (on the left), from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, assists Spc. Joshua Toma, (right) HHC, 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2IBCT, during a sniper observation team lane for a fire support coordination exercise at Pohakuloa Training Area on Hawaii Island.

I am quite fond of the Remington M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle (ESR) used here, chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum. You can also check Remington’s own product page on the M2010. The rifle scope seems to be a Leupold Mark 4 in power 6.5–20×50mm with a first focal plane Horus Vision H-58 grid system range estimation reticle and Bullet Drop Compensation.

The exercise gives lower level leaders the opportunity to conduct fire support missions, increase readiness and gain confidence during scenario-based realistic training.

Spc. Christian Harris, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, verifies target using a M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle during a sniper observation team lane at Pohakuloa Training Area on Hawaii Island, Nov. 14, 2019. 2IBCT conducts fire support missions to train Soldiers and junior leaders by creating combat based scenarios to test the unit’s maneuver capabilities and enabler assets.
